Visiting Researcher Application Information
Lakehead University’s Paleo-DNA Laboratory has developed a new policy governing the invitation of Visiting Researchers to Lakehead University. Those researchers wishing to carry out their research at Lakehead University facilities are required to submit a completed Visiting Researcher Application Form available from our office. This application form serves several purposes. It allows us:
- to evaluate the proposed research activities;
- to confirm the researcher has adequate funding in place to carry out the proposed activities;
- to allocate laboratory and office space for the project; and
- to ensure equipment and staffing are in place for the duration of the Visiting Researcher’s intended length of stay.
In limited instances, it is to the benefit of Lakehead University faculty to permit persons who have not yet obtained a Ph.D. (or its foreign equivalent) or who are not recognized experts in their fields to engage in research on the Lakehead University campus using Lakehead University research facilities. Such instances might include students at other universities who are engaged in graduate-level research in a field of interest to the faculty member, or employees of companies who are conducting research which requires specialized equipment available only at Lakehead University. Such persons are also required to submit a completed Visiting Researcher Application form.
Applications must be received at least three months prior to when the proposed research is to begin. For more information on our Visiting Researcher policies please contact our office. |
